Our target is to travel southwards and spend the night at the edge of Ngorongoro Crater to be ready for the last highlight of this Uganda Tanzania Safari the next day.

Head down into Ngorongoro Crater, cited as ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ’8th Natural Wonder of the World’. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breath-taking natural wonder referred to as the world’s biggest wildlife zoo, due to its high density of resident game. In the morning we descend to the crater floor where you will be amazed by the sheer number and diversity of animals and bird life.

Standing in the pop up safari vehicle the viewing opportunities are endless, just deciding which way to look and what to look at, the choices are unlimited. The sheer excitement as we spot any of the big 5. Tonight as we relax we reflect on what has been a truly remarkable journey like no other experience and marvel in the wonders of the amazing wildlife East Africa has had to offer during this Uganda & Tanzania Safari.

Make the drive to Arusha or Kilimanjaro where you are dropped off for your flight to Zanzibar. You can virtually feel the sea breeze, hear the rustle of palm leaves, and smell the spices just by saying Zanzibar.

Zanzibar is an archipelago of four islands off the coast of East Africa; its main island, Unguja, is often referred to as Zanzibar. Because of its strategic location along spice and slave trade routes in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar was a stronghold for many countries throughout its history.

You’ll see palm-fringed white-sand beaches protected by a healthy coral reef. You’ll see blue water, an interior that still has plenty of indigenous forestland, and a capital, Zanzibar City, that is full of amazing architecture — a mix of Omani palaces, Arabian arches, and Indian wooden balconies and studded doors.

The town’s narrow streets are bustling with life, offering visitors a heady mix made up of local women offering you henna tattoos, Maasai warriors playing pool in a corner cafe, multiple colourful markets, delicious food, fabulous shopping, and plenty of varied history. And then there are the beach resorts.

Have a two-stop vacation: a stay in Stone Town to enjoy all the town has to offer for a few days, then a drive through the interior to one of the many beach hotels and resorts to spend a few days relaxing on the beach.

Stretch out on a quaint sisal daybed or get rocked to sleep in a hammock strung between two palm trees facing the turquoise Indian Ocean. The warm tropical sun peeks down at you from gaps in the leaves while the soft breezes scented with the unique fragrance of the spices growing on the island mingling with the aroma of organic coconuts, fruit and other flora surround you.

As you slip into the warmish waters, you will enter a paradise illuminated only by the sunshine filtering down. It lights up the many hues of the living coral and the multi – coloured diversity of pelagic, demersal and coral fish denizens.

There are both shallow and deep sites you can explore, and that makes these reefs ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving around Zanzibar sites.
