Safari Lodges in Seychelles

North island camp

Found in the ‘inner’ islands of the Seychelles, which are known as the most beautiful on Earth, North Island is a place of exclusive luxury within an exquisite wilderness sanctuary.

For those seeking a private and unspoilt, tropical retreat, our 11 opulent hand-crafted villas lap the pristine, powder-white sands of the turquoise Indian Ocean.

The Island’s beautifully decorated lounge and dining areas, scenically-located health spa and gym, library and dive centre, and a rim-flow swimming pool are all built into a granitic outcrop overlooking the iridescent ocean.

A perfect place to end the day is at the sunset bar and restaurant tucked away on the western side of the island.

Banyan Tree

From the spacious terrace of the Banyan Tree’s three exclusive Intendance Pool Villas, you enjoy a stunning bird’s eye view of the Indian Ocean, Intendance Bay and the lush tropical mountain greenery surrounding the hotel.

A set of walkways and stairs connects your villa, living pavilion and pool with a separate sundeck and jet pool – set at different levels into the hill in between imposing granite rocks.

Breath-taking views are the trademark of the lofty Intendance Pool Villa, which has been inspired by the exotic charm and elegance of local colonial architecture.

For spa aficionados one Intendance Pool Villa on top of the mountain also features an additional massage pavilion.

Sample delicious Creole delicacies at Au Jardin D’Epices where you can sink your teeth into succulent seafood and experience the fine blend of spices, coconut dishes and curries the Seychelles are famous for.

Alternatively, visit Saffron and enter the fascinating world of South East Asia. A romantic outdoor BBQ can be arranged for you on the beach, a picnic hamper prepared for a lovely excursion or simply pampering on a lazy day with an extensive in-villa dining menu.

Close to the comfort of your luxurious villa, you can also work out at the resort’s infinity pool, tennis court and gym, or be pampered at the lavish spa and beauty salon. Water sport facilities are available subject to season and sea conditions.

Nestled in Intendance Bay with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, one of the area’s most beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees and lush tropical forest, Banyan Tree Seychelles provides a rare taste of paradise.

For the very best of Seychellois architecture, its 47 stunning pool villas combine contemporary, and colonial and ‘plantation’ décor; from high sloping ceilings and louvered doors to ethnic woven textiles.

For the ultimate in luxury, exclusivity and privacy, stay at the exquisite Presidential Villa, which occupies its very own private cove by the water’s edge.

Cousine Island

This is a great 4 room hotel on a private island.  There is a great beach in front of the hotel and nature walks through the forested interior are very interesting.

Guided nature walks and snorkelling are readily available; the conservation guide will take you on a journey through Cousine Island’s past. For the more adventurous at heart there is also a range of diving, fishing and day excursions on offer.

This is a unique natural paradise and one of the world’s last remaining pristine islands. It is without doubt one of the finest islands in the Seychelles. Cousine Island is not only a tropical destination but an island that is 100% dedicated to nature conservation.

The island offers a variety of interests, from wildlife to gorgeous sunsets and tranquillity. Here you can experience the best of both worlds!

Des Roches

This is a wonderful private island, a great simple lodge with diving and water sports.  Des Roches and Denis are very similarly priced and similar islands.  The joy of these lodges is that within a 10 minute cycle ride you can find completely deserted beaches.

Des Roches Island is part of the Amirantes Group of island, a remote coral atoll. Spared by the flow of time, the pearl of the Amirantes archipelago stands as a real jewel to host an exceptional stay devoted to fine living, well-being, leisure and sport.

The 20 junior suites blend harmoniously into their tropical surroundings. Facilities in the villas include a private terrace with a sea view, king-size beds with mosquito net, air-conditioner and ceiling fan, minibar, bathroom with outdoor shower and bathtub, personal Safe, telephone, hair dryer, satellite T.V. and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Denis

Beach activities and sports include Sailing, Windsurfing, Snorkelling, Canoeing, Nature walks, Jogging trails, Dive centre with PADI accreditation, Year-round fishing, Fishing charters of Mako 34’ Striker, Bottom-fishing or ‘palangrotte’ Bone-fishing.

A Seychelles Island with 375 acre set amidst the azure waters of the Indian Ocean is one of the most magical and romantic retreats. It is covered with lush tropical foliage, edged with powder soft beaches and ensconced by turquoise waters.

Taj Denis Island has 23 Deluxe Cottages, one Family Villa and one Executive Villa. Each of these elegant, air-conditioned, beachside cottages has a sea-facing veranda, a courtyard and an outdoor shower.

The cottages, designed in natural tones and textures, seamlessly blend local Creole influence with a stylish, yet natural ambience.

Ephelia

This is big… a vast sprawl of a hotel on a rounded peninsula, benefitting from two very distinct beach areas.

But Constance Hotel Group is notoriously clever in their management of crowds, and somehow manages to spread the burden of its guests between the variety of pools, dining rooms, restaurants and beaches such that the individual experience is personal and, at times, sublime.

At last, a superb family hotel on Mahe, enjoying the glorious beauty of the Seychelles beaches and forests, that is both easily accessible and affordable.

Accommodation ranges from very spacious and comfortable suites to superb villas, and with five different restaurants and bars there is a great range of choice. Children are well catered to throughout, with various menus, a Kids Club and masses of activities to suit all ages.

Family villas are well placed around the beach and hillside to allow for easy access to restaurants and sea, well screened for privacy, but those that climb the forested hillside are even more secluded and luxurious.

The beaches are truly beautiful; the cove of the North Beach provides a glorious playground for non-motorized water sports and spectacular swimming. The long expanse of beach is well sheltered for sunbathing, and rocky coves are ideal for snorkelling.

The South Beach is very shallow, a quieter aspect for walking and meditating. Short forest walks bring you to utterly deserted and gorgeous beaches, well worth the sweat to get there.

Four Seasons

With views that could rend even the most discerning of travellers speechless this resort really is unlike any other of its sister chain hotels.

An unrivalled service, a unique blend of the Seychelles atmosphere, and the authenticity of the Four Seasons touch make this not just a Resort, but an experience.

In this lush castaway sanctuary, days promise barefoot ease as you stroll along the powder-sand beach. Nature’s richness recharges the spirit with storybook adventures in jungle and sea.

Villas are set in the natural amphitheatre of Petite Anse; with interiors that draw their inspiration from a mix of rustic Seychellois and French colonial style.

Simple, white-washed timber slat walls allow the carefully curated collection of objects d’art to sing, while the veranda, day bed pavilion and infinity plunge pool set off unencumbered views of tropical greenery and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean; pausing only to kiss the white sand enclosed in the bay, as if framing nature’s own handiwork.

The combination of privacy and space lends an unparalleled sense of relaxation. Four Seasons signature service is provided with added local charm, while the tropical birdsong, cinnamon trees and frangipani are pure Seychelles.

Fregate Island

Four degrees south of the equator, Frégate is a Seychelles Island of outstanding natural beauty; giant granite boulders rise from the powdery white sand of seven beaches, protected by granite barriers.

Fregate has 16 villas, restricting the number of guests’ to a maximum of 40 at any one time. The island remains exclusive to its guests – no day visitors are allowed – with each villa positioned to ensure ultimate privacy.

The villas are built of native mahogany and blend harmoniously into the natural surroundings. The tropical feel of the buildings is deliberately casual. Each villa has a large terrace with a day bed and Jacuzzi as an extension of the living area.

The light and spacious interior houses colonial-style furniture and state-of-the-art technology.  In the evening, the Plantation House turns into a romantic restaurant serving traditional Creole dishes and island specialties.

This historical building evokes memories of the island’s past and is a wonderful venue for open air dining.

L’Archipel

One of the better mid-range hotels on Praslin – it is a close call between L’Archipel and La Reserve.  L’Archipel has a reasonable beach though is close to the famous beach at Anse Lazio.

Nice but simple rooms stretched over the extensive gardens and great food.  The luxurious bungalows of the hotel nestle in the hillside overlooking a beautiful private beach called Anse Government.

All 23 rooms of the hotel are spacious (44 m2), with sea view, overhead fan and air-conditioning. All have a king size bed, direct line telephone, mini bar, tea and coffee making facility, safe, hairdryer, and satellite television.

The bathroom is equipped with shower, two wash hand basins and separate toilet. Some rooms are equipped with baths.

Located at the foot of the hillside, the new Senior Suites are more spacious and have improved facilities, whilst the elegant Executive Suites have an additional lounge, bathroom, Jacuzzi bath and veranda.

Situated directly by the ocean, the main restaurant offers an elegant, intimate ambiance, with all the dishes created by a young and talented Seychellois chef. Another memorable experience is the creole buffet, accompanied by a violinist.

Local fresh catch of the day includes threadfin, king snapper, red mullet, barracuda, Dorado, bonito, swordfish and bourgeois. The main hotel restaurant with its wonderful elevated position offers breakfasts and gourmet dinners.

Lemuria

This is a superb hotel.  Recently built and bringing with it a very Mauritian feel this hotel is wonderful for honeymooners, families and golfers alike.  The hotel’s private beach – Anse Georgette – is simply staggering and one of the best in the Seychelles.

The 88 Junior Suites, constructed in wood, marble, stone and pink granite are located amidst the tropical gardens, in lodges all sea facing the stunning Indian Ocean.

All suites are located within individual one floor bungalows and are well-equipped; the emphasis is on privacy, intimacy and harmony with the natural surroundings. Each suite is designed along minimalist, yet luxurious style with ceiling fan, large bathroom, a terrace and sun lounge chairs in the shade of overhanging palm trees.

At the Spa Constance there is a team of experienced and qualified masseurs who will relieve you from your stress and bring back your energy. You have a wide choice from Reflexology, Shiatsu, Ayurveda and Aromatherapy.

Maia

Whether you are in a hillside or beach villa, there are glorious uninterrupted ocean views. Each villa is utterly private and designed in natural earthy tones.

All have luxury air conditioned bedrooms, enormous inter-leading bathrooms, and personalized bar and sophisticated in-room entertainment.

Every villa has its own infinity-edge swimming pool and separate gazebo-style day villa with relaxation day bed and ceiling fan. At Maia’s restaurant the quality of dining and service rank among the best in the Seychelles.

You may dine Al Fresco at the Pool Bar next to the azure pool, or indulge your palate with the spicy perfection of Franco-Asian haute cuisine. Alternatively you may choose to have every meal freshly prepared and served in the privacy of your own villa.

Simplistic luxury seems to be the running theme through Maia from the layout of the villas to the glittering ocean it sits upon – the next luxury is never more than at arm’s reach away, and you can rest assured that you can have a truly private and calming beach experience here. It has all the ingredients for a recipe of complete Seychelles paradise – the stuff of dreams.
